The 13 stars being 13 families in Europe would be interesting. Did those families come over before the flag was finalized in 1777? Was the flag required homage to the families? How did the 13 families in Europe control America when the British couldn’t? Why weren’t the families able to keep the flag from being changed 27 times? Why not declare the families as the stripes? Would that show division amongst the families or harmony? We didn’t always have 13 stripes neither.
